The MasterCard Scholarship at Arizona State University will provide graduate scholarships to train young African professionals at the master’s level for various programs in the USA.
The fully funded scholarship covers all the costs related to tuition, accommodation, visa, flight, books, meals, and living expenses. The scholarship will also make provision for the application fees and process to the university as well as the cost of English Proficiency exams.

Arizona State University (ASU), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is offering a fully funded, two-year, on-campus master’s program focused on developing EdTech expertise in Africa.
This MasterCard Scholarship program includes the opportunity for scholars to gain practical experience by working part-time with the Baobab team on the Baobab Platform. Over five years (2025-2030). The program will support 120 young African professionals pursuing various master’s degrees.
30 Scholarships are available for students admitted for the 2025/2026 academic year, which will cover the full tuition fees, expenses for accommodation, and comprehensive support for the 2-year graduate program.
On top of financial support, Scholars will participate in activities as part of the wider Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ASU, including leadership curriculum, individual mentorship, and other events and programming.
Requirements for MasterCard Scholarship at Arizona State:
To be considered for the MasterCard Scholarship at Arizona, you must satisfy the following criteria:
- Applicants must qualify academically for admission to the degree of their choice that includes English proficiency.
- Applicants must be a citizen of an African country committed to ethical leadership and demonstrated engagement in their community.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 33 on or before the application deadline.
- Applicants must demonstrate a track record of leadership and service in their community.
- Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and ambitions that exceed one’s financial resources.
- Applicants must have earned an undergraduate degree conferred by July 2025.
- Applicants must not have started or completed other graduate or master’s degrees before August 2025.
- Applicants must be able to live in Phoenix, Arizona for the duration of the program.
